Heat the oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until tender, stirring occasionally.Stir the soup, water, brown sugar, vinegar and Worcestershire and heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to low. Cook for 5 minutes. Add the beef (separating the slices so they get coated in the sauce) and cook until the mixture is hot. Season with salt and pepper, if desired. Divide the beef and sauce among the buns.
