Killer Baked Beans

This flavorful dish uses canned beans, ground beef and a mix of sweet and savory ingredients to make an absolutely irresistible side dish.

Directions

Set the oven to 350°F.  Cook the bacon in batches in a 12-inch skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove the bacon from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Remove all but 2 tablespoons drippings from the skillet.

Add the beef and onion to the skillet and cook until the beef is well browned, stirring often to separate meat.  Pour off any fat.  Stir in the pork and beans, lima beans, brown sugar, picante sauce, ketchup and mustard.  Season to taste.  Spoon the beef mixture into a 3-quart casserole. Top with the cooked bacon.

Bake for 1 hour or until the bean mixture is hot.
